Personal Support Worker
Full Time • St Augustine
We are seeking a compassionate and reliable Caregiver to support an adult male client with cerebral palsy, intellectual disabilities, epilepsy, chronic brain syndrome, who is deaf and non-verbal. The client uses a wheelchair and communicates through sounds and gestures. The ideal candidate will be attentive, engaging, and committed to supporting the client’s independence and well-being.
Responsibilities:
- Assist with morning routine: getting out of bed, personal hygiene, and dressing
- Prepare and assist with meals
- Provide support with mobility and safe transfers
- Accompany client to community outings and medical appointments
- Engage in meaningful activities and provide companionship
- Monitor for seizure activity and respond appropriately
Requirements:
- Experience working with individuals with developmental and physical disabilities
- Ability to assist with lifting/transfers
- CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain)
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
- Must pass a Level 2 background check
Schedule:
- Saturdays 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM (with potential for additional days)
- Part-Time
Compensation: $16.00 - $18.00 per hour
